Sometimes we can't do a project as designed because of issues like property lines or permanent structures that prohibit access by workers and equipment.
This patio extension (below) was to have been Poured Aggregate Concrete, but the neighbors on each side were only 10 feet from the client's home. Plus the gateway was only 40 inches wide.

Bringing in a Concrete Pumper was cost prohibitive plus the combined weight of the huge truck and concrete mix would have cracked the concrete driveway in front.
So we came up with a different plan, involving the use of architectural concrete pavers on a compacted crushed rock base, finished off with scalloped edge pavers.
There is nothing to match the timeless look of properly placed mason-cut stone. But this can be expensive and beyond a client's budget.
Architectural Pavers are an attractive alternative to a poured concrete slab. They are substantial, stable stepping stones - shown (above, right) leading away from the patio to the visitors pond, waterfall and Japanese Goldfish swimming beneath the seated Buddha sculpture.
These and other manufactured stone products can be used to create a variety of practical and pleasing dry and wet weather surfaces for entries, garage aprons, walkways, patios and terraces.
